In 2001, a group of prominent laser scientists, leading clinicians, and business executives came together with a shared vision. They would create a new science and breakthrough products to fulfill the promise of laser medicine. No more big dumb "boxes." No more hype. They vowed to bring a new intelligence to solve the problems of aging and sun damaged skin.

The Reliant team has created a breakthrough in laser delivery by focusing on Fraxel laser treatment. In the hands of clinicians worldwide, Reliant's proprietary technology platform is poised to change the treatment paradigm to a new standard of care.

Today, the newly formed Reliant (the integration of RTI Holdings and Reliant Technologies) employs a team of 150 professionals in Mountain View, California. The company released the revolutionary Reliant Fraxel SR laser in the fourth quarter of 2004. Reliant is positioned for growth and prepared to meet the challenge of becoming the new market leader in aesthetic laser medicine and surgery.

Reliant Technologies is supported by both individual and institutional funding, including significant financial and board support from Three Arch Partners and Meritech Capital Partners. Three Arch Partners is one of the leading medical device and service focused venture firms in the world. Since inception, Three Arch has focused on identifying and creating new healthcare companies in markets with significant unmet clinical or infrastructure needs. Meritech Capital Partners is a leading provider of late-stage venture capital to the most promising private technology companies. Meritech seeks to lead investments in the portfolio companies of leading early-stage venture capital firms. Reliant has also secured debt financing from Pinnacle Venture Partners and Comerica Bank.
